The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly agreed on a trade that sends Dee Ford to San Francisco.

ESPN's Josina Anderson also reported Ford would receive a five-year deal for $87.5 million once the trade becomes official.

Also, this could be a really good pick, with the 49ers giving up a 2020 second-round pick in exchange for Ford.

The 27 year-old edge rusher looks to continue to build himself as a star in this league after last season in which he recorded career highs in tackles (55), tackles for loss (13), and sacks (13), earning himself his first Pro Bowl nod. According to Terez Paylor of Yahoo Sports, a herniated disc limited Ford to just two sacks in six games in 2017, which quickly halted the momentum of his 10-sack season in 2016. The moves made by the Chiefs, the trade of Ford in particular, are indications of Spagnuolo's influence.

Around this time a year ago, San Francisco was considered one of the sleeper teams expected to make a serious leap in the NFC to become a serious playoff contender.

The Prodigy singer Keith Flint died from hanging
The group released an album, No Tourists , in November and was set to embark on a United States tour in May. "RIP KEITH FLINT. A full hearing will be held in the summer, and the death remains under investigation before toxicology reports are completed.

That's more than the Chiefs received days ago, when they released their other top pass-rusher, Justin Houston.

And while the San Francisco 49ers missed out on wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was dealt from the New York Giants to Cleveland Browns, they did manage to secure themselves an explosive player to add to their defensive roster. This frees up $14.5 million in cap space that they could potentially use to chase a free agent.

Getting that kind of production over the next few years would give the 49ers a massive jolt to a defense that sorely needs pass rush help. An undersized defensive end didn't seem to be the right fit. All indications are Ford will be the "leo" in the 49ers' 4-3 defensive alignment.

Ford, who was selected out of Auburn with the 23rd overall pick in 2014, is coming off his best season.

Ford's struggles against the run shouldn't matter much.
