Clippers deal Harris to Sixers in multiplayer deal

For parting with Harris and a pair of capable reserve big men, the Clippers are reportedly receiving Shamet, a rookie guard averaging 8.4 points and shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point territory, and a pair of veteran forwards in the 31-year-old Chandler and 27-year-old Muscala.

Official confirmation on the deal is yet to happen, but the Sixers will also receive center Boban Marjanovic and forward Mike Scott.

Harris, 26, averaged 20.7 points per game for the Clippers this season. Averaging almost 20 points and eight rebounds per game, he's now one of the Sixers best forwards alongside the Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler, a situation he's clearly excited about.

The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. EST.

And Rachel Nichols pointed out that the Clippers' 2019 pick - sent to the Celtics via Memphis in 2016 - is apparently lottery-protected in both the upcoming draft and 2020; it converts to a 2022 second-round pick if undelivered prior.

With Harris set become a free agent at season's end, the Clippers faced the prospect of getting nothing in return for him. The guys give Sixers general manager Elton Brand a ton of credit for making such strong moves just 140 days into his tenure as GM. According to Wojnarowski, while two of the picks are for the second round, another third is the 76ers' 2020 first-round pick and the fourth is the biggie - Miami's unprotected 2021 first-round pick. The Clippers are 30-25 and have shed the salary needed to make them attractive for major free agents in the summer.
