Chris Brown Denies Rape Allegations Following Jail Release

The outlet says it confirmed with French judicial officials that Brown could face an aggravated rape charge and drug infractions.

An unidentified woman claimed that she was raped by Brown in a Mandarin Oriental hotel room overnight between January 15- 16.

The arrests were first reported by Closer magazine, which said the three men had been detained after the woman's allegations. Both officials said Brown was detained Monday and was still in custody Tuesday while police study the complaint. Investigators have two days to decide whether to let him go or file preliminary charges.

Following news of his arrest, Brown took to Instagram to declare, in no uncertain terms, that his accuser is "lying", insisting the allegation "is false and a whole lot of [crap]". She also accused one of his friends and his bodyguard of raping her after Brown's initial assault.

Still, he said he would be open to using "amnesty" on "a much bigger deal, whether on immigration or something else". I look forward to voting for it and will work to encourage my Republican and Democratic colleagues to do the same.

American singer Christopher Maurice Brown popularly known as Chris Brown is not new to controversies. In June of 2017, a judge granted his former girlfriend Karrueche Tran a restraining order against Brown after she alleged that he texted her violent threats.

But others blasted those people for sticking up for the R&B star before all the facts were in and said being Black or famous shouldn't keep folks from making snap decisions about a conspiracy being formed.

At this time, Brown's label, Sony Music, has not released a statement regarding the arrest of one of its top artists. Brown has been accused of raping a woman in Paris.

In 2009, he pleaded guilty to assault after beating his then-girlfriend, pop superstar Rihanna; he served five years probation and several months of community service. The woman, identified as Jane Doe, filed a civil suit against the singer last spring.
