Houston Texans take wide receiver Demaryius Thomas from Denver

The Broncos have traded wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and a seventh round draft pick to the Houston Texans for a fourth round draft pick and a seventh round pick, the team announced on Tuesday.

As part of the deal, Denver is getting back a fourth-round pick and is swapping seventh-round picks with the Texans (the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported the deal).

One of the primary reasons that Denver was willing to trade Thomas, who has been with the organization since being drafted in 2010, is because it opens the door for more playing time for Courtland Sutton.

The Broncos' warm feelings for Thomas might subside by Sunday when they kick off their Week 9 game against ... the Texans.

Spurs have proved me wrong, says Pep Guardiola
Laying City to win in the Match Odds at around [1.76], and therefore getting a Tottenham win or a draw on your side will reward you at odds of around [2.3] if successful. "That is going to happen in your stadium".

Fuller, who was averaging 71.9 receiving yards per game and had four touchdowns on the season, had been given a 6.9 overall offensive rating from Pro Football Focus, second best among Houston's offensive players behind Hopkins. Assistant coach Wes Welker is a former teammate of Thomas, and the entire Sports Performance staff, led by Senior Director Luke Richesson, were all in Denver before moving to Houston this past offseason. He joined Torry Holt (six), Marvin Harrison (five) and Antonio Brown (five) as the only players in National Football League history with five consecutive seasons totaling at least 90 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards (2012-16).

Thomas, of course, was on the hook for $8.5 million this season ($4.5 million of which will be picked up by the Texans), and has a non-guaranteed $14 million base salary for the 2019 season.

The Broncos (3-5) will host the Texans (5-3) on Sunday.

"He made so many big plays", Elway said.
