Rajan Anandan, Vice President of Google (South East Asia and India), said data consumption in India is now at par with developed markets at 8 GB a month per subscriber.

According to January 2017 Google- KPMG report, India can be expected to have almost 735 Mn Internet users by 2021 and hence Google is trying to undertake projects that help the users.

"Building for India has often meant Google building for everyone all around the world". These new users largely use video and audio content on the internet.

With that, Google is poised to play a major role in the way people spend money in India. And as for vernacular, the majority of the Internet users today are Indian language users, a number expected to reach 500 million plus in the next two years. It will enable offline Indian language content publishers to bring content online. Not just that, the market is also getting attention from other companies from other countries.

Soon after the launch of Google Pay, it accounted for 52 per cent of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions in India in December 2017. This service very much helping those who are suffering from visual unbalance or people who are so much busy in their work that they don't have any to read but wish to read articles, this app with definitely work for them. Google aims to cover 150,000 retail stores in India to use Google Pay by November 2018. The Search feed will now display favourite news from both English and Hindi sources, using AI that learns which types of stories users like best. Google Pay has partnered with Federal, ICICI, HDFC, and Kotak Mahindra to roll out the instant loan feature in the next few weeks.

And with respect to inter-state travel, Google is partnering with RedBus to bring on 20,000 new routes and 1,500 new cities to Google Maps.
