After being hospitalised following an overdose recently, there was an outpouring of support for Demi Lovato.

According to the source, the plan is to get Lovato into treatment when she's released from the hospital.

She has since said the incident was a "wake up call", telling friends according to Entertainment Tonight: 'Demi opened up to her friends and family that she was no longer sober, but was working on her ongoing addiction. "But the friends acted very quickly and saved her life".

Demi Lovato has been rushed to hospital over a suspected overdose.

Speaking to PEOPLE recently, a source explained, "He saw her through so many ups and downs and was her rock through some of her darkest moments". She was reportedly treated with Narcan - a medication created to rapidly reverse opioid overdose - before being rushed to a local hospital.

"I care about Demi just like all of you do". "I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you".

In her YouTube documentary released a year ago called Demi Lovato, Simply Complicated, she openly discusses her cocaine use and battles with alcohol.

"He was not aware that her issues were this severe and intense at this time", the source said.

It's still unknown exactly what she was taking before falling unconscious - initial reports suggested that it was heroin, but since then multiple sources close to Demi have been adamant that she wasn't using heroin. There is too much of it in this world as it is.

Another person in Lovato's corner is actor Wilmer Valderrama, an ex-boyfriend, who has reportedly remained by her side during her recovery.
