Fortnite has rolled out a set of Birthday Challenges to celebrate one year of Battle Royale, but they're not going to plan.

Meanwhile the Fortnite team seem to be encouraging players to hashtag their birthday cake celebrations with #Fortnite1st on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, so that is sure to be trending in the next few days, keeping the biggest game in the world right in the very forefront of the gaming community. We've done the legwork and put the locations of each of the birthday cakes on the map, which you can find below. July 24th marks the start of a new Fortnite event that gives players the chance to unlock special birthday-themed items by completing certain challenges.

It's not often that a new game comes along and completely dominates the conversation for months on end, but that's exactly what Fortnite has accomplished in its first year on the market. "Unless you've got a squad ready to take on The Storm, Fortnite rapidly becomes a lonesome and trivial experience".

Tomorrow (Wednesday 25) sees the return of Playground LTM mode. Thankfully, each of the challenges are fairly easy, though one of them will require you to spend a little bit of time running around the map and getting your dance on. Hidden mini-games have also been added, and completing the birthday quest line in Save the World Mode will get games a new hero named Birthday Brigade Ramirez.
