Liverpool looking to sign Xherdan Shaqiri

Liverpool have been linked with closing in on the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City and fans have been reacting on social media.

Shaqiri has a release clause in his contract which the Daily Telegraph claim is in excess of the £12million figure which has been widely reported.

Lazio have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to sign Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

Ojo, who spent previous year helping Fulham win promotion to the Premier League scoring four goals in 22 appearances despite being sidelined for a time by a dislocated shoulder, has impressed already in pre-season.

Shaqiri has indicated that he wants the move which should be sealed before the Reds head off to the United States as part of their pre-season plans. Liverpool got lucky last season in that their front three - Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah - remained fit and healthy for the majority of the campaign, but their lack of depth was exposed during the Champions League final, when Salah departed injured.

It remains to be seen whether the pursuit of Shaqiri will be instead of, or as well as, Nabil Fekir, the Lyon attacking midfielder who Liverpool have been chasing for several months.
