Denver agrees to deal with Isaiah Thomas

The limited market for Thomas came as a result of a forgettable 32-game 2017-18 season split between the Cavaliers and Lakers, and with Thomas' hip not looking like it was fully healed all the while.

Thomas will reunite with Michael Malone, who coached him with the Sacramento Kings.

Thomas has been working his way back from a procedure on his hip and if he rebounds on the court this season, he could provide a strong option for the Nuggets while reestablishing his value before becoming a free agent again. "We hit it off, and what I learned from those relationships was that if you are honest and you are real, it's going to go a long way".

Slowly, one-by-one, the players re-emerged where they met with friends and families watching from the stands. He said: "They were the better team, that's all that happened".

Isaiah Thomas has agreed upon a one-year deal worth $2 million with the Denver Nuggets.

Last summer, the Celtics dealt Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, a 2018 first-round draft pick and a 2020 second-rounder to the Cavaliers for guard Kyrie Irving. Two years ago, he was a MVP candidate for the Boston Celtics, averaging 28.9 points and being heralded as one of the clutchest players in the league. The last man picked in the 2011 National Basketball Association draft played for Malone in Sacramento during the 2013-14 season and averaged 20.3 points and 6.3 assists as the Kings went 28-54. After 15 games with Cleveland, he was traded to the Lakers at the deadline and played in 17 games. He was an All-Star in both 2015-16 and 2016-17, averaging 25.5 points and 6.1 points in those seasons combined.
