Motorola event: A new Android One phone cometh!

No word on pricing and availability yet but we'll let you know as soon as we hear more details on August 2, 2 PM, during the launch at the Motorola headquarters in Chicago. Secondly, it appears the Motorola One has a glossy casing compared to the matte finish on the One Power. We got confused with the idea between the Motorola One and the Motorola One Power but apparently, each one exists so there's really two. It will certainly be interesting to see the company try to make a splash, especially as it comes during a busy time on the calendar that also has Samsung unveiling the Galaxy Note 9 in NY on August 9, the week after Motorola's event. The two handsets will collectively form the Motorola One line and will probably be similar in spec although the Power version could carry a larger battery (and thus, be a bit chunkier).

Android Headlines has obtained some leaked renders of the One, although it doesn't have any specs to say how the One and One Power will be differentiated. The phone on the left is the Motorola One, and it's very likely that both devices will be launched at the same time. There doesn't seem to be any difference at all just by looking at the image above. The Motorola logo is found at the back.

Both the phones come with an 18:9 screen, with the Moto E5 featuring a 5.7-inch IPS display while the Moto E5 Plus gets a slightly bigger 6-inch IPS panel with the same HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Generally speaking, the Motorola One looks a lot like the Motorola One Power. Talking about the cameras, the device sports a 13MP camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture and 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. And today, the brand has confirmed the launch of Moto E5 Plus in India and of course, it's teasing the big battery.

Now it turns out that there might actually be two One-branded smartphones coming down the pipe.
