Showers are possible Saturday and on Mother's Day, which is Sunday, the weather service said. The weather service forecast for Kansas City, Kansas, says there is a 20 percent chance of rain both nights.

Warm temperatures will hold on into the weekend, too, as the mercury rises to 88 on Friday, 91 on Saturday and a sweltering 93 degrees on Sunday.

The weather service warned of wind damage to roofs, siding and trees. "There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms coming our way".

Tonight, the low will be around 65, with a south wind of 10 to 14 miles per hour, gusting as high as 20 miles per hour, according to the weather service.

Scattered showers could impact the region until about noon, the weather service said.
