Canadian Paxton no-hits Jays

On Tuesday, Paxton went the distance to secure his milestone, going all nine innings against the Toronto Blue Jays for baseball's second individual no-hitter of the season in a 5-0 Mariners win.

This was the sixth no-hitter for the Mariners franchise, and the first since Hisashi Iwakuma did it against Baltimore in 2015. Paxton joined Dick Fowler of the 1945 Philadelphia Athletics as the only Canadians to throw a no-hitter.

Paxton told reporters that some of his family and friends were at the game and it was special he could share this with them.

Paxton has walked three and struck out six while throwing 92 pitches Tuesday night in Toronto.

All of that adds up to a game where the ball gets put in play less and less, making outings like Paxton's that much more possible.

Global News has obtained an exclusive image of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Roberto Osuna in a holding cell following his arrest for assault. "And to be just himself in a moment like that was just awesome". By Statcast's measurements, he got as high as 99.5 miles per hour in the ninth, making him one of only six pitchers in the last five years to throw that hard that late in a game-and Paxton is far and away the geezer of the bunch at 29 years old.

But Seager, a Gold Glove victor, made a ridiculous diving stop on the ball, scrambled to his feet and threw to first without really looking or pausing.

The White House is expected to announce the date and location of Trump's meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. In a tweet Monday, Trump said Haspel "has come under fire because she was too tough on Terrorists".

"If that ball gets by you, it would've been hard to get any sleep tonight", Seager said.

Nola allowed only five hits and one run.

If you feel like his name sounds familiar, it may be because he gained national media attention for his run in with an eagle last month. Some pitchers wilt after 100 pitches, Paxton's velocity rarely dips after 80-plus pitches.

With two outs and the no-hitter an out away, the Blue Jays' best hitter stepped to the plate.

"I mean it's Josh Donaldson, the guy is pretty good", he said. So I was like I better bring my best stuff. They know it and I know it. "I'm going to let it rip top of the zone and see what happens,"' Paxton said. Paxton took the decision out of Servais' hands Tuesday by turning in a "Maddux" (a complete-game shutout in under 100 pitches) and touching 100 miles per hour with his fastball in the ninth inning.

Diamondbacks 8, Dodgers 5 (12 innings): Daniel Descalso hit a three-run home run in the 12th inning to give Arizona a victory at Los Angeles. Paxton threw a 98 miles per hour fastball up and away that Donaldson swung at and missed.

Paxton fired a 99 miles per hour fastball on the first pitch for a swinging strike. And it was so amusing, he ran by me after that and said, 'You're welcome.' That's just true Kyle Seager humor. "The fans were giving me some trouble in the seventh inning, but once I got post that they started kind of cheering me on".
