A study by the National Center for Charitable Statistics based on 2011 federal tax returns found the average NY taxpayer with a gross adjusted income of averaging $68,841 who itemized his or her deductions contributed $4,305 to charity.

Nixon, a political novice best known for her portrayal of Miranda Hobbes in the HBO series which ran from 1998 to 2004, launched her Democratic primary campaign against Cuomo six weeks ago, declaring, "Our leaders are letting us down".

The Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found 50 percent of registered Democratic voters favor Cuomo compared to 28 percent for Nixon.

The income by the activist, theater actor and co-star of the "Sex and the City" TV series and movies is tops among announced candidates for governor.

Nixon and her wife, Christine Marinoni, reported giving $7,979 directly to charity and thousands more through Nixon's company, The Fickle Mermaid.

Nixon and Marinoni also contributed more than $44,000 to charitable organizations via a family foundation they established to give out grants to organizations, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

Marinoni earned $128,000 working as a senior adviser in New York City government in 2017; she left the job this year.

The government's response is seen as a test of labour reforms launched by French President Emmanuel Macron. The state owns a 14% share of the company but will not bailout the company the minister warned.

Mr. Cuomo continued to criticize Ms. Nixon, suggesting that "one year is not enough" and preaching about the virtues of transparency.

Nixon and Marinoni reported that they made $183,344 on the sale of a home in Montauk that they bought February 2, 2012, and sold March 28, 2017.

Nixon reported an $85,260 loss on activities related to two rental properties.

She draws a $400,000 salary and said she works 100 percent for the company, the returns showed. Almost $8,000 worth of contributions made directly by the couple were not itemized. Mr. Cuomo gave $11,000, all to a homelessness group, HELP USA, that he founded.

Hours before Molinaro released his 2017 filings, Cuomo's campaign said the Republican candidate, who has held public office since he was a teenager, should release the past 10 years of his tax returns.

"George Pataki, a Republican, released 14 years of taxes". The poll conducts nationwide public opinion surveys, and statewide polls in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and Texas as a public service and for research.
