Despite harassment allegations, Jeffrey Tambor is returning to 'Arrested Development'

Tambor's involvement in season 5 of Arrested Development had previously been very much in the air after sexual misconduct allegations against him surfaced as part of the fallout of #MeToo.

Tambor's departure from Transparent triggered an internal investigation by Amazon, although there has not been an update since that time. But according to a high-level Netflix exec, the streaming service did indeed look into the actor's behavior, in light of allegations against the actor on the set of his Amazon series "Transparent". Tambor plays the patriarch of the Bluth family, the dysfunctional clan at the center of the show.

Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for Arrested Development Season 5. Tambor had said, "I am profoundly disappointed in Amazon's handling of these false accusations against me". She is a father that comes out to her wife and children about being transgender.

The Emmy-winning actor's role in the sitcom that's garnered a cultlike following since its 2003 Fox debut came under question late previous year following accusations of sexual misconduct on the set of Amazon's "Transparent".

Lysette said she and another actress laughed off the remark, but then Tambor approached her again a short while later.

Creator Jill Solway said: "I have great respect and admiration for Van Barnes and Trace Lysette, whose courage in speaking out about their experience on Transparent is an example of the leadership this moment in our culture requires". She felt his privates on her hips. "I am deeply sorry if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being sexually aggressive or if I ever offended or hurt anyone".

Tambor denies those claims. "But the fact is, for all my flaws, I am not a predator and the idea that someone might see me in that way is more distressing than I can express".

Filming on Netflix's "Arrested Development" - with Tambor on board - wrapped up that same month, leaving fans to wonder how or if the allegations would impact the series' long-awaited return.
