Nashville Predators vs. Winnipeg Jets, 5-1

Game 4 is Thursday night in Winnipeg before things shift back to Nashville for Game 5 on Saturday.

Craig Smith and Fiala skated up on a 2-on-1, and Jets defenseman Byflugien failed to block Smith's cross-ice pass to Fiala who beat goalie Connor Hellebuyck with a backhander.

The Jets couldn't complete a pass, Hellebuyck couldn't stop the puck and the crowd was as quiet as they've ever been in these 2018 National Hockey League playoffs.

It just wasn't supposed to be that way. In the first two games, the Jets played like the much more comfortable team.

The Nashville Predators pulled off a big win on Sunday night against the Winnipeg Jets thanks to a huge goal from Kevin Fiala.

Seven games into his first taste of playoff hockey, he's yet to light the lamp.

The first period killed whatever energy there was. "The support is fantastic and I just hope the boys really make it through". The Jets have gone 35-9 here at home for the year and they have averaged 3.82 gpg and have allowed 2.36 gpg in those games.

Take a picture folks. You won't see too many like it for a long time.

"I don't know if I have answer for you that makes sense", Sullivan said Monday.

The Jets trailed 3-0 after one period before scoring the only four goals of the second period. Stastny is looking like one of the great trade deadline gems of all-time with his three goal, nine-point performance so far in these playoffs. "He saw me, I just made a move and buried it". Filip Forsberg had three assists, Ryan Johansen had two goals and Viktor Arvidsson chipped in as well. It was a dumb penalty and a punishing result ... The Jets will keep taking advantage of those easy opportunities and scoring four-plus goals per game.

The line that dominated Winnipeg Sunday night was the line that should give the Jets a hard time.

With less than three minutes remaining in the period, Austin Watson scored off a bad change from the Winnipeg Jets and increased the lead to 3-0. And with the way he's playing, DeBrusk is giving Boston that little bit of an extra edge they might need to get there.

Nashville needs to steal a victory on the road to regain their home ice advantage that they lost in the opening two games. They earned an all-important split in Nashville and now have three of the next five games on home ice. It made for some tense moments at the blue-line and a few odd-man rushes for the Preds, but it sure worked as a way of driving the offence ... You aren't going to win a series if you have to score five goals a game to win.

So explain this to me. He was playing right. Jets defenceman Tyler Myers punches Mike Fisher of the Preds in the back of the head after a goal and nothing. But a player accidentally gets his stick between an opponent's leg and it's automatically two minutes in the box. Forsberg registered the primary assist on P.K. Subban's power-play goal in the first period. But slash, whack and punch away boys ...

The Predators have been a very solid offensive team during the postseason as they enter this game ranked 4th in scoring at 3.50 gpg, while also ranking 1st in shots taken (37.6 spg) and 13th in power play conversions, converting on 15.4% of their chances. Nothing to worry about there.

For Fiala and the Predators, there was little panic in the crazed end-to-end action of overtime, as they traded chances with the Jets. The Predators iced the puck and they could not clear the zone.

"The more energy and the more excitement in the game he can take his game to another level". 44 of its games have gone under the total, while 43 have gone over and just two have pushed.
