Fiji scored a last gasp try to beat Australia in the final of the Singapore Sevens and take the overall lead in the World Series.

From there, Naduva evaded tackle after tackle to score the final try which sealed a 28-22 win.

John Porch's spectacular try, a full-length diving effort in the left-hand corner, put Australia ahead for the first time in the match 22-21 with under a minute remaining in humid conditions on Sunday.

While Fiji now leads the overall standings on 145 points, South Africa is hot on its heels on 141 to ensure a tense season finale is in order.

Mike Ellery was the hero, scoring the winning try after South Africa had staged a thrilling comeback from a 19-10 half-time deficit.

Siviwe Soyizwapi was the chief destroyer for South Africa.
