Thus far, they haven't come close.

Boston opened the flood gates early, with first period goals from David Pastrnak, Jake DeBrusk, Kevan Miller and Rick Nash. And the Bergeron line has played a major role in that; on Saturday, David Pastrnak had a hat trick and a six-point game, the line combined for 14 points, and the Maple Leafs won, 7-3.

Second Period_5, Toronto, Marner 1 (Hyman), 1:22.

Forward Auston Matthews was irked as well. The line has 20 points in two games. He also reportedly was suffering from concussion-line symptoms as well.

At least the Leafs now get to return to the ACC, something with coach Mike Babcock talked about, when assessing the disaster which occurred on Saturday night. In all that time, having a line score 20 points in two games against one of his teams is a first.

Mikkel Boedker made a nice pass in the neutral zone, but Tomas Hertl did the rest, schooling Brandon Montour with a series of moves before roofing a backhand over the blocker of a helpless John Gibson. Unless it was my own team. But the Avalanche couldn't get another puck past goalie Pekka Rinne.

The Tampa Bay Lightning's top line of Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos and the newly acquired J.T. Miller deserves all the accolades that it gets-it's one of the best units in the league-but where would the Lightning be without their depth scoring?

"As a kid, playing in a rink that an National Hockey League team played in ... sometimes you'd get in there and play in the afternoon after the (Leaf) morning skates". So that's our first priority. "So, you get into trading chances, and we had to guard against that".

The same question about a trio registering five goals and 15 assists in two games was put to Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly, whose answer was more brief: "I just did, yeah".

Speaking to CNN, the 39-goal attacker admitted: "They've all said: 'We don't want to play against Liverpool!' ". The first legs will take place on April 26 with the second on May 3.

How they accomplish that remains to be seen. As long as Pastrnak looks like this, it's going to be hard for the Leafs to keep up. Andersen, who surrendered five goals on 40 shots in Game 1, stopped only two of five shots before Curtis McElhinney relieved him.

Staying out of the penalty box would be an obvious solution but the Maple Leafs continue to have difficulties on that front.

The Leafs actually had a better start than Thursday when they were almost run out of the rink in the game's first 10 minutes, but the Bruins grabbed the lead at 5:26 when Pastrnak picked up the puck in front of Andersen and made a slick move to score his second goal of the series.

The talented Pastrnak is doing it with the same two linemates he skated with last postseason - and for most of the 2017-18 regular season. So, you lose 5-2, 5-4, 10-2, it doesn't matter; it's a loss. We deserved every bit of criticism far and wide. Good news is: (the) story's not totally written yet.

"Yeah, I mean you look at a game like this, sometimes that gets overlooked, but for sure".

Komarov sustained a lower-body injury in the second period.

The changes didn't stop the Bruins from dominating the first period, and chasing Leafs' goalie Frederik Andersen after just 12 minutes, 13 seconds. "But in saying all that, you spend your whole year working on your confidence". "I try to help the team as best I can and if it goes in the net that better".

"We're a determined group".

"Obviously, it hasn't gone the way we wanted".
